New opportunities for your music
Bring your music to shops.
Your music can accompany shops, cafés and practices – and create an additional source of recurring income.
We are already talking to our first prospective customers and building our music selection. Your suitable tracks may already be uploaded to Audiocrowd.

You make the music. We find the customers.
We find business customers, put together suitable music programmes and handle licences, support and playback. We also work with agencies that serve several shops.
Music plays directly in the browser. An Android app is in preparation. You can start with music you already offer on Audiocrowd.
We are starting with businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For additional countries, we will seek further consent and review the rights.
Take part in three steps
Next, read the terms and decide whether to join. Participation and rights are handled in one form.
Activate participation
Read the Instore terms and decide whether you would like to join. They also explain how you share in the revenue.
Clear your music for shops
Confirm that you hold the required rights in your music and recordings and can grant them for use in shops. We carry over existing details. You can exclude individual tracks. If anything is unclear, ask us.
Offer suitable tracks
Start with existing music or upload new tracks. A longer version can help with shorter pieces. You can add it to the relevant title under ‘My tracks’.
We then review the rights and choose suitable tracks for our programmes. We cannot include every track offered or promise a particular number of plays.
Get involvedStart with music you already have.
You do not need to produce new tracks first. We are looking for music that creates a pleasant atmosphere in shops and remains enjoyable over time. For example:
- Gentle acoustic music for cafés and bakeries
- Subtle jazz, lounge and relaxed electronic music
- Friendly, unobtrusive pop for retail
If your original is long enough, you do not need another version. For shorter tracks, guidance under ‘My tracks’ shows where a longer version could help.
Upload a new track50%
of net licence revenue for all participating composers
We calculate the combined share for all participating composers using 50% of the licence payments Audiocrowd actually receives from Instore music, excluding VAT.
More customers, more opportunities for your music
As we gain more paying customers, the shared revenue can grow. Join early and we can consider suitable tracks for the first new programmes.
Your share depends on how many of your tracks are included in each customer’s or partner’s music selection and how often they are played. Without reliable playback data, your proportion of the included tracks applies.
What you earn depends on the selection and use of your music. We cannot promise a fixed income or a particular number of plays. You can read all the details in the Instore terms before joining.
Good to know
Can I take part?
To start, you can take part if you are not a member of GEMA or a comparable collecting society and can grant us the required rights in your music and recordings. You must confirm these details in your account. If any rights or details are unclear, we resolve them before you join. We are happy to help with questions.
Can I still offer my music elsewhere?
Yes. You can continue to offer your music elsewhere, as far as your rights allow. Instore participation is non-exclusive.
Can I clear several tracks together?
You can give permission for tracks you have already uploaded together using the displayed list and exclude individual titles. You can mark new uploads for Instore. You then give permission for that specific track during upload or deselect it. We review the rights and decide which music fits our programmes.
What if my rights change?
Tell us straight away and update your details – for example, if you join a collecting society or transfer rights to someone else. We will then check whether and how the affected music may continue to be used.
